It was incredible to spend a Sunday afternoon in the company of these ladies, who were so open, warm and candid as they shared their diverse experiences as Africans in America. Over the course of a couple hours (and several plates of delicious food!), we talked about everything from homesickness to dating to differences in upbringing. Their insights were helpful to me as an ESSENCE editor, of course, but also enlightening to me personally as a woman of African descent.

Restaurant Review

A firm favorite amongst the group already, Madiba’s Brooklyn accommodated our large table of 22 well. The brunch menu was truly South African inspired and great for the homesick that day.
